Things we need to remember
PE kits needed every Tuesday and Thursday.
Suitable outdoor kit is needed.
Trumpet needed every Monday.
Spelling and reading books needed daily.
Within History, we will be studying The Ancient Greeks.
In Science, we will travel through space learning about The Earth, Sun and Moon and later in the term Forces.
In RE, we will be learning about Buddhism and answering the question...
How did Buddha teach his followers to find enlightenment?
Following this, we will learn about The Eucharist
What is the great significance of the Eucharist to Christians?
This term in English;
We will be writing to inform through explanations and recounts.
We will also entertain through Greek Myths.
The children will do weekly comprehension exercises and 3X a week be tested on our whole school spelling scheme.
In accordance to the New Curriculum we will be working weekly to improve our spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Please read independently for 20 minutes a day and to an adult 3x a week. Please record reading in your diary and ask an adult to sign it.
Topic/English homework is given on Tuesday and handed in the following Monday.
Extra class spellings will be tested and sent home on a Tuesday. Or an activity will be given based on our spellings.
Maths homework is given on Friday and handed in the following Wednesday.
The children also need to practise a mixture of tables and related division facts to achieve a personal best time.
This term in Maths;
In number, we will spend time on place value, addition, multiplication and division.
In measure, we will learn about Perimeter and Area.
We will also learn how to use information in a line graphs, tables and timetables.
The children will further develop their reasoning skills by applying topics taught through the term to solve problems.
