Spring Term 2021
Here is a Glossary of terms used in spelling, punctuation and grammar teaching
Our theme this term is:The Romans Arrive in Britain! This term we will be continuing on our journey through history to the time of the invasion of Britain by the Romans and we will learn how this invasion changed life in Britain. |
Things we need to remember:Homework and Spellings will be given out on Fridays, to be completed for the following Friday.PE kits will be required on Tuesdays and Fridays
Bring a bottle of water for use in class and a healthy snack for playtime. |
Important DatesPlease use link below forDiary DatesREIn RE this term we will be investigating the questions: 'Why are good stewardship and generous giving important for every Christian? ' and 'Why is the cross more than a symbol of sacrifice?'

WritingThis term in English we will be learning to write an information text on Roman soldiers and we will be looking at Roman myths and legends. We will be continuing to focus on using paragraphs in our writing and to develop our use of conjunctions. We will also be practising our handwriting and aiming to write in neat, joined-up handwriting.In line with the New National Curriculum, we will be working regularly to improve our spelling, grammar and punctuation. |
ReadingChildren will bring a reading book home each evening. Please listen to your child read for about 20 minutes a day. Reading books will need to be brought into school each morning to use during the school day. |
MathsThis term we will be learning to multiply and divide, including 2-digit numbers; to use tally charts, bar charts and pictograms; to add and subtract money, including giving change; to measure length and perimeters; and we will begin looking at fractions. |
